DVB-I programme metadata

The Service List Registry supports the provision of a content guide with programme metadata using the DVB-I standard, which is based on the open TV-Anytime format.

Programme information

The registry can provide detailed programme information associated with services in the registry. It can also reference other existing online sources of programme information.

Programme information can include the schedules for traditional channels and titles in libraries or catalogues of collections available on demand. This can be used to present a content guide, which is sometimes referred to as an electronic programme guide or EPG.

The system supports the provision of programme schedule information up to 28 days forwards or backwards.

Library titles and episodes can be grouped into collections of categories, series, or brands.

Keyword search is available across titles and episodes available through the registry.

The metadata is provided as structured information in TV-Anytime format. It can include references to images and deep links to allow programmes to be launched in a particular player application.

DVB-I simply specifies the description of programme schedules, titles and episodes. It does not define or impose how they are presented on different devices, displays, or applications. This allows for innovation and differentiation in user interfaces, with complete flexibility about listings of programmes are presented.
